About Founder

Maggie Kowalik, CSCS

CEO/Founder/Head Coach & Trainer

What’s up! Maggi here! My students call me Miss K. I also go by Coach Magz. Professionally, I am a PE Teacher for Elementary students, a personal trainer and a Strength & Conditioning Coach. I am also certified as a “Range of Motion / Mobility and Stretching Specialist”. Other areas of intentionality included fitness, holistic health, wellness and nutrition.  I earned my Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and a minor in coaching and health & wellness. I went to grad school to receive my certificate in education. Last but not least,  I am a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA.

During my college studies at Notre Dame I competed as a 2 x sport D1 athlete in track & field and Rugby. Previously, before my collegiate career, I attended countless sports camps, played on many travel teams and worked with and for many different strength and conditioning coaches. I grew up competing and training in many different sports such as soccer, ice hockey, basketball, track & field, field hockey, boxing, muay thai, BJJ, and rugby.

Currently, I play team handball for NYC and the USA women’s National Team. It’s purely just a passion of mine to help coach others get to their athletic/fitness/health goals, and overall to develop a happier and healthier lifestyle. I aspire to inspire youth athletes and educate them on proper training techniques. I see a huge importance in strength and conditioning to prevent injuries and improve athletic performance to the best of one’s ability.

When I was in the 2nd grade I joined a basketball skills group. We worked on ball handling skills and tricks and performed at high school and college basketball games. This was the highlight and foundation to my athletic career. It’s where motivation, determination and perseverance filled my spirit. It taught me self discipline and allowed me to be confident in who I was while performing skills in front of hundreds of people, just as a kid. I want to give kids the same experience that I had, but even better. I want to also implement a program that promotes leadership and life building skills. I want kids to learn young how valuable they are and how to overcome fear. We can use sports to propel us into our purpose in life and it is such a great opportunity to build strong relationships and get into colleges with scholarships. All of this will be taught in the JC LIL BALLERS group. My goal is to host skills camps each summer. I also plan to continue something during the fall/winter season with the goal to perform at halftime basketball games.

I founded MaggStrength with the desire to help others reach their fitness & athletic goals.

Overall I have the ambition to help people not only get to their goals but to develop a healthy LIFESTYLE. Personally, I have had many ups & downs before finding the right path that leads me to complete confidence in myself. I struggled with this for years, and with simple guidance and proper coaching, the process is simple. That is why I would love to help you out! Whether your goal is to lose weight, get faster, get stronger, get the body you’ve always dreamed of, or just to overall feel better… I got you!

I emphasize injury prevention and can sympathize with those overcoming injuries. Tearing my ACL and recovering from that has been one of the greatest challenges in my life. However, I am thankful for the fact I can now help and guide others through the process.

For my goal of MaggStrength, I hope to inspire as many people as I can and get them into a healthy & confident LIFESTYLE both physically and mentally. Also, on the athletic performance side; I aspire to help young athletes follow their dreams. Just by a simple process of proper training, coaching, and nutrition, along with the hard work you put in daily, I will guide you there!
